The RED KOMODO 6K introduces a 19.9MP Super35 CMOS sensor featuring Global Shutter technology, effectively eliminating rolling shutter artifacts while delivering 16+ stops of dynamic range. Housed in an ultra-compact 2.1 lb all-in-one chassis, the camera utilizes the Canon RF mount, providing native support for RF glass and compatibility with EF lenses via the included mechanical adapter. Electronic adapters further unlock Phase-Detect Autofocus (PDAF) functionality.

Internal recording is managed via a single CFast 2.0 slot with data rates up to 280 MB/s. The system supports 16-bit REDCODE RAW with simplified HQ, MQ, and LQ compression tiers at resolutions up to 6K40, 5K48, 4K60, and 2K120. For standard delivery or proxy workflows, Apple ProRes 422 HQ and 422 are supported up to DCI 4K60. Monitoring and configuration are handled through an integrated 2.9" 1440 x 1440 touchscreen, supplemented by wireless control and preview via 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi or wired USB-C.

Professional connectivity includes a 12G-SDI port for 10-bit 4:2:2 DCI 4K60 monitoring, a 9-pin EXT port for Genlock, Timecode, GPIO, and RS232, and a 3.5mm audio input. The power management system features dual Canon BP-900 series battery slots supporting hot-swapping for continuous operation. The camera integrates RED’s IPP2 color science and supports 3D LUTs for advanced on-set color management.
