The Canon Cinema EOS C300 Mark II features a Super 35mm CMOS sensor and dual DIGIC DV 5 processors, capturing DCI 4K, Ultra HD, and Full HD imagery. The system utilizes Dual-Pixel CMOS AF technology for continuous phase-difference autofocus and includes a Touch Focus Kit with a 4" LCD touchscreen for tap-focusing. Internal recording is handled by the XF-AVC codec (H.264 in MXF wrapper) to dual CFast 2.0 card slots.
The camera provides an expanded dynamic range through Canon Log, Log 2, and Log 3 Gamma, with the latter supporting up to 14 stops and 1600% range. Firmware updates have introduced ACES 1.0 output, reduced dark noise in Log 2, and the Dual-Pixel Focus Guide for Cinema Prime lenses. Connectivity includes dual 3G-SDI outputs, Genlock input, Timecode I/O, and ACES 1.0 support via SDI/HDMI.
The modular magnesium body weighs approximately 3 lb and features a dustproof/splash-proof design with a silent cooling system. Operational tools include built-in manual ND filters (2, 4, and 6 stops), a 1.17MP EVF, and advanced monitoring aids such as Waveform, RGB Parade, Vectorscope, and Edge Monitor Focus Assist. Professional audio is supported via two XLR inputs with +48V phantom power, recording uncompressed 16-bit PCM at 48 kHz.
